 NATIONAL PREMIERE
Ice climbing champions Louna and Tristan Ladev
ant\, together with renowned mountaineer Mathieu Maynadier\, form an unusu
al and delightfully entertaining team. Among their ambitions is a bold cha
llenge: to free-climb one of the hardest routes on the North Face of the G
randes Jorasses\, the ‘Directe de l’Amitié’\, first climbed fifty y
ears ago by a band of unconventional mountaineers. The film follows the th
ree friends through the many obstacles on their journey to success\, unite
d by a shared belief: extreme mountaineering\, from one generation to the
next\, can be pursued with joy and a light-hearted spirit.

 A CALL FROM THE WILD
 Norway\, 80 min
 Director: Asgeir Helgestad

  EUSKADI PREMIERE

 Filmmaker Asgeir Helgestad doc
uments the state of nature in his home country\, Norway\, which he has pho
tographed all his life. From the lives of bees at his farm to wild reindee
r on the high mountains and puffins at the ocean's edge\, he shows the bea
uty of threatened nature and tracks down human actions responsible for its
decline. This is a personal story about our connection with the non-human
world\, the relations between the small and the big\, and a reminder of n
 ature's strength and vulnerability.
