In 1955, fascinated by the ingenious method of netting pigeons using wooden bats and nets, Orson Welles directed the documentary The Land of Basques. Today, from a mountain hut on the border between Navarre and France, Gerardo Damboriena, a veteran pigeon hunter and leader of the last generation of pigeon hunters in the Etxalar Valley, reveals to us in the Basque tongue the secrets of this tradition, which dates back more than 700 years and is on the brink of extinction. A tale in which the English language learns from the Basque. A story narrated by Gerardo Damboriena and Orson Welles.
